ARS MORIENDI

the art of dying

And I will support you all the way to death...

01 Introduction

Death is universal and inevitable. Each of us will die. I believe that our culture of death must be supported – financially, emotionally and culturally – in ways that modern society and modern healthcare often no longer can.

02 Fear

Why are you afraid of death?

What can a good death be like, how can one prepare for it? How to think and talk about it, how to tame it before it becomes a reality for us? And what specifically scares us about death?

Focus on this thought and identify your fear. Usually, it is one of these 7 reasons:

  1. 01

Because my death will cause grief among my loved ones

  2. 02

Because all my ambitions and plans will end before I complete them

  3. 03

Because the process itself can be painful

  4. 04

    Because I regret what I didn't do, didn't experience, didn't live

  5. 05

Because I won't be able to take care of those who need me

  6. 06

Because I am afraid of what may happen to me after death, what life awaits me afterwards

  7. 07

Because the thought of what will happen to my body scares me

03 Reflection

Believe in your own wisdom and intuition

In the process of preparing for the inevitable death and taming it, it is important to focus on specific steps that can help manage fear, alleviate pain, and transform it into a truly spiritual process. After a period of despair, denial, and anger, there will come a time to accept one's own mortality...

I don't give advice, I just help you find your own answers. Our conversation is confidential. Everything you tell me will be between us. I offer you a safe space where you can be exactly who you are. All your thoughts and feelings are welcome. You can show me your pain. I can help you access your emotions and help you express them in safe ways. Expressing thoughts and feelings is liberating and healing. Together we will explore where the source of your strength lies and how you can access it again. You will laugh again, reflect on yourself, feel pride, peace, comfort... and you will allow yourself to move on.

A calm, confidential space for fear, grief, clarity, and choice.

04 Farewell

Active and creative exploration of your own farewell to the world

Do you want to do something special, go somewhere, experience something? Visit places you haven't seen in a long time? Eat something special for you? Perhaps experience something you've always been afraid of? I can be there with you. I can help you organize, I can go with you, figure out, arrange, and hold your hand if you want. Be active as long as your body allows, as long as your soul reaches for action!

In facing inevitable death, we often discover new, unknown sides of ourselves. This can lead to fear, but it is also an opportunity for valuable self-awareness. Do you want to meet someone for the last time? I can help you break the ice in the first difficult conversations with close ones, family, friends. Maybe we can organize a farewell party according to your plan?

We can create a creative chronicle of your life, film, paint a picture, perhaps write something, tell; and it will be a unique biography about you... until death.

05 Preparation

Practical ways to master chaos

Practical knowledge and concrete actions arrange the inner turmoil and provide a sense of control over the situation. Knowledge and theory can give you better orientation about what will happen to your body. I can give you information that will help you understand your personal dying process better. This may include knowledge about physical and emotional changes that occur in the body in the face of death.

We will also address what you consider important around you. I will help you go through your treasures, pictures, organize them and say goodbye. Arranging all important formal matters such as writing a will, distributing your assets, memories, etc., is important work worth doing. I will contact a lawyer for you if you need it.

Do you want to plan your funeral? We will discuss your wishes and any doubts, we will refine the details and I will ensure that your will is fulfilled. We can visit the crematorium, buy and decorate your own urn, check if the coffin is comfortable.Do you want to die in hospital or at home, in your own bed?

Are you perhaps thinking about active assistance in Switzerland? We will talk openly about this if you need it, I am able to be with you until the end.
